Tetra 50-watt submersible heater, red light comes on when plugged in then nothing after a minute, what’s wrong?

I just received this heater. I have it fully susbmersed. I plug it in and the light turns red for a minute, then no lights at all.

I’m curious if anyone knows if it’s broken?

Read the instructions … there is a specific way these heaters have to be set.
Unless you bought the little “pre-set” one … then it only comes on when the water is cooler than 76F. So what’s the room temperature? … even if the rooms cooler than 76F,you have to factor in the heat from the lighting.

You do have a thermometer to go with the heater…. right?
