Where can I find Texas holey rock near San Marcos, Tx?

I am looking for Texas Holey Rock (limestone) for my new cichlid aquarium. I live in San Marcos Texas. Does anybody know somewhere local that I can search for it myself? Maybe in Austin? Or a cheap place to buy it nearby?

Squires….those rocks are easy to find in the wild….kicking around the hills, you will notice many rocks that have those holes in them, just laying around the hills…go kick around in Gruene, there is a river by the downtown area, where you can hike around and find these rocks, it is all limestone, and many have holes, some have lots of holes…and downtown there is a nice bar…speaking of holes, that is old as Texas, with really cold iced tea or beers for a cooling off party, whew

….this time of year , look under them with care, some scorpions will nest under some of the larger ones, where they have a cool place, and easy access in an out of the rocks and niches under them

…the rocks can be soaked in a bucket of plain water just to soften the dirt, then scrubbed with a scrub brush, and an old toothbrush to clean them well….you could boil them too, won’t hurt em a bit..and many are the just the size to fit in a 8qt pan

… they are calciferous and look a lot like ’swiss cheese’ but different, lol, recalcified limestone they are
..they formed over the years as that part of Texas moves and gases push through the rocks and eventually the rocks surface too….I have listened to others refer to them as “HOLY” but that is accurately as you have said “holey” from those gas bubbles
….yup, they are common to those hills around San Marcos, New Braunfels, Gruene, Austin, or out west next county over from Comal and Travis the hills really start to roll, these are everywhere…take some Sangira Wine, and listen to Jerry Jeff Walker on the boom box, while you form a “movable ’search’ party” lookin under things….I have done with friends many times….right now I am in China, otherwise I’d offer to ut one on your front porch for ya’ (LMAO)
