Why is 2003 Ford Explorer brake light switch wiring is different on the replacement part?

The replacement brake light switch has 2 wires, both are green/ red. But on the harness it connects to, the 2 wires are green/red and brown black. How do I know which wire to connect to each other because they dont match?

For this job It doesnt matter which color wires you connect to. All you will be doing is connecting in on the existing circuit. The new switch wiring is probably an updated version.
