Do I need to buy a bottle sterilizer?

Is it necessary to sterilize the baby bottles or can you just clean them in the dishwasher?

Also, when mixing formula, do you need special water? Can you use tap water? Would the filtered water we have built into our sink work?

No its not necessary. Save the money and buy diapers or formula. I wash my son’s bottles in the dishwasher…the water gets very hot!

Just remember to boil the nipples once a week!

As for water…I started boiling (live in NYC) but my ped. said it wasn’t necessary since I was using a filter. I do heat up the water in a microwave or bottle warmer for a few seconds though..seems my son like his milk warm. Plus mixing warm water with the powder blends better.
