Where can I buy a new transformer for my heat pump?

I had a guy check out the heat pump and he says the transformer is fried. Then he told me that a new tranformer (he had an universal one with him) would cost me $281. Sorry, but I think that price is totally insane. I’ve got to be able to find a better deal than that. I mean geez, it’s just a 220V to 24 V tranformer for crying out loud.

i got some swamp land in fla. that will be great to build on soon as it dries out,wanna buy it
go to any heating&air supply house and get a universal trans. for $20.00 or under,may even be able to get one at a hardware store and you don’t necessarily have to have one that steps down from 220 volts you can use one that steps from 120 or 110 volts,but before i buy one,might be a good idea to have someone else to look at it,what is it not doing will be glad to try and help just send an email
