Can one submerge a “pond” ornament in an aquarium?

They seem similar, but the pond ornaments usually sit outside the water so I’m not sure.

any ceramic, concrete or stone is fine. it’s a good idea to boil it for 5 minutes first, though i never bother with anything but a hot rinse under the tap.
