Plastic plants…?

.. I want to take one of my plastic plants out and put a new one in instead. Is it OK to do this?? I still have other plants in the tank which will have the algae and bacteria on them.

I currently only have platys in the tank. I was going to make the swap over when I do my next water change/gravel clean..

I know plastic are not as good as real plants, but I’m new to the hobby and want to get used to just keeping fish at the moment, before I attempt the plant life as well…!

Thats absolutely fine. The amount of times I’ve changed things in my tank, I’ve lost count!! I only started off with platies, and I have had minimal fatalities in my tank so far. You’re right, plastic aren’t as good as real, but it would be an idea to get some real plants in there. ry asking at your local retailer what plants would be a good idea to put in, and try that. Plants are easy. You just plant them and thats it. I’ve not had to do anything to them since, apart from trimming off the dead bits.
ooh- make sure you give your fish a healthy, balanced diet – its given my fish a world of good. Get some live food once in a while- once a week perhaps. Good luck!
