How do I use my Penn-Plax Squeeze Vac?

I recently bought a Penn-Plax Squeeze Vac – Aquarium Gravel Cleaner. I feel like an iditot- but I really dont know how to use it. I tride just squeezing the thing at the top- and it really doesn’t help much. If anyone has used this before any help would be appriciated.

Try both of these options:
1. Try squeezing the bulb before you put it down in the tank. Once the gravel tube is all the way down in the gravel, let go of the bulb and this should start the siphon.

2. Or, put the gravel tube down in the gravel, allowing it to fill with water. Then, squeeze and let go of the bulb, which should start the siphon.

You should have a steady stream of water, just as you would with a conventional (first gravel washers that came out). You shouldn’t need to prime it by sucking on the end of the hose.
