What to do about moss in the turtle tank?

We’ve cleaned the tank repeatedly. The moss is winning. What can we do?

What kind of turtle and setup? Moss or algae?

Moss (and to an extent, algae) indicates warmth, humidity, and poor air flow. It also needs spores to reproduce, so you have apparently not killed off the spores. Try heating/baking, or using bleach (about 1.5 cups of bleach to a gallon of water, let it stay in contact for about 10 minutes)) to really disinfect the stuff- spores are small and ’sticky’, so make sure every square inch is treated.

Another issue to think about if it really is moss- a lot of people TRY to grow moss in tanks for things like Eastern Box Turtles- maybe this is a good thing!?
