I have a jebo protein skimmer how much air should be around the vortex?

I bought a jebo protein skimmer off the internet, it didnt come with any instructions. How much air should be in the column with the vortex?

Generally, you want the air bubbles to come up within an inch to half inch (approximately 2-3cm) of the top of the column inside the collector cup. Any higher and it’ll run too wet (too much water will spill over).

You might try contacting the company to see if they can email an electronic copy of the manual to you. I just had to do this with a display model of a skimmer I bought last Saturday (box didn’t have the waranty or manual, but all parts were included). I emailed Saturday, got the manual as an email attachment today.

NOTE: Keep a close eye on the skimmer for the first 24 hours of operation. It may not put out much “skimate” and first, but once it gets going, it can do so rapidly – you don’t want the cup to overflow.
