What is the best filter freshwater aquarium?

I just purchased a 75 gallon aquarium at home with my three cichlids. I am a prisoner, blood parrot, and a prisoner / blood parrot currently living in a gallon of 20. I wondered what filter would be better for me to use. I shall probably have either a filter or a power filter. All opinions should be highly appreciated. I do not buy expensive filters only to learn that this is not a good job. Thanks for the tips.
