what filter is better for saltwater aquarium for a thirty gallon ?

fluval, rena, eheim ? and what tests and chemicals do i need to start it up i know i need a protein skimmer (whats that) and a hydrometer, why do in need that? Need help please

saltwater fish do not produce any more waste than any other fish of comparable size and behavior, they are only more sensitive to nitrogenous wastes

surface skimmers remove the muck from the surface of the water..
protein skimmers fractionate suspended proteins and wastes and collect the skimmate in a cup

specific gravity is not a reference to salinity.. they are two different things
not to say that you need both a refractometer and hyrdometer, they are just two different technical terms
