Reef tank. Coral frag tank questions?
1. For a coral frag tank only (no fish), do i absolutely have to have a protein skimmer or can i get by without 1 since there will be no fish in the tank?
2. Is there anything else i would need besides pc or metal halide lighting, and good water flow for a frag tank only?
1, you should have SOME kind of skimming, yes it’s not AS important and yes you don’t NEED it, bu tif you want good growth and color form your frags you should have at least a small skimmer.
2. you’ll want to dose with calcium and other elements/mineral to make sure that they have enough raw material to grow, but other than that, not really.
