Cleaning Acrylic Light Shield (mineral deposits) for Aquarium Ballast / Hood?

My light’s acrylic shield has white mineral deposits from dried tank water. Its an african tank with high water hardness. The air bubbler sends little droplets of water up & they dry on the sheet of acrylic protecting the lights.

I know you can use a razor blade on glass to get this stuff off, but what about acrylic sheets? Some sort of chemical? I’m afraid of scratching the sheet & reducing the level of light that comes through it even further.
