Aquarium Carbon

Algae are plants that are undesirable in an aquarium. Once the algae grow in an aquarium, which will compete with other aquarium inhabitants of nutrients and other resources for survival. Therefore, it is necessary to control algae in aquariums. Algae can never be completely eliminated from an aquarium, but with some preventive measures, the amount Algae can certainly be maintained with minimum delay.

First, see the factors that promote algae growth.

1.Sunlight – Like than any other water, sunlight is absolutely essential for the growth of algae too. Although sunlight looks very good for the aquarium water, sunlight can cause algae to grow, which could be dangerous to other living organisms. Not only the direct sunlight, but any other form of artificial light in the aquarium also promote algae growth, if maintained power continuously for more than 10 hours per day.

2.Nutrient levels – algae grow faster if there is a excess nutrients in your aquarium. All plants need nitrates, phosphates and silicates of their better growth. By introducing nutrients into the aquarium, the levels of these nutrients can go higher, facilitating algal growth.

People 3.Plant – Algae grow faster in a tank if there are very few plants in the tank to compete, because then you can get all the resources in the reservoir.

Now that we know what are the key factors that promote growth of algae in aquatic ecosystems tanks, we can understand the methods that can be used to control algae growth. Here are some methods to combat algae that can use even by amateur aquarium —

1.There some fish species that feed on algae. These fish are called in the tank clean. Some rates and the popular fish tanks are the cleanest available Suckermouth dwarf otos, or catfish, Siamese algae eats, stuffy nose Pleco, catfish industry, and even algae Japanese eat shrimp. You can enter one of these fish in the tank once it begins to show an infiltration of the algae. It may also include a hermit crab or a snail, because they eat algae too.

2.Using a ship could be a very good choice too. Protein Skimmers are devices that remove unwanted proteins environmental reservoir. It will remove dissolved organic compounds in the reservoir, which would otherwise promote algae growth. They provide nutrients down. The skimmers also reduce the concentration of carbon dioxide from the tank, the algae are plants, the need to prepare food through photosynthesis.

3.Reduce the amount of actinic light in the configuration of your aquarium. The actinic light is blue, and promotes the growth of algae if used in excess. The ideal situation would be to use 50% of the actinic light is mixed with 50% white spectrum (day) light. In addition, sources light must be replaced periodically. All the VHO (Very High Output) fluorescent lamps must be replaced after every eight months. Halide Lamps metallic replacement are made annually. We must also remember not to maintain artificial light continuously for 10 hours in a day.

4.Carbon dioxide is directly responsible for growth of algae, because after all, are plants. If the filter filled with carbon dioxide, then there is a possibility that the carbon dioxide level in the reservoir is high. With a pump in the tank to allow water to flow continuously into the means to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the tank. You can find out when carbon dioxide levels in the aquarium is by controlling the alkalinity and pH of the water in the tank. If these levels are abnormal sauce, then it is time to do something about carbon dioxide levels have risen in the reservoir.
