One of the biggest weaknesses when it comes to owning an aquarium is the accumulation of algae. Unfortunately, for owners of fish, freshwater and saltwater well, it's a just a natural reaction in the tank and must be cleaned. There are four different types of algae, you may find yourself struggling with: brush green, brown, red, green and blue.
Green algae are of normal type as most people have to deal with. It grows generally light in the aquarium. For someone who has never had to clean green algae is known not a fun experience when you try to scrape the sides of the tank. Hair algae usually float around the tank and can easily be cleaned with a steak fish. The green dot to drive a lot of seaweed washing time.
Brown algae usually appear when the aquarium has just begun. This means they are imbalanced phosphates and nitrates. These should be tested and adjusted. The owner might consider adding more light than brown algae grow in low light. Wait for brown algae disappear once Water conditions are controlled.
Red-brush is difficult to treat but not too greasy film seems to cover everything. This should be removed and cleaned immediately, because it could interfere with anything the tank for the fish plant.
There are several ways to prevent algae, or at least limit the amount of algae in the tank. You can not all be neutralized, but at least make the cleaning process go a little easier.
1. Use less illumination. This may seem counter-productive for brown algae growing in low light, but they also need specific water conditions for growth. Use low lighting or turning off lights after a certain range, seven to eight hours. This will prevent the algae have enough light for photosynthesis.
2. Change the water every two weeks. This will reduces the growth of algae. In addition, the vacuum cleaner to clean the rocks and gravel. You can also use distilled water when changing the water as a means to maintain growth algae. However, if you use distilled water, you have to do if the water changes as it could harm the fish if the use of different water every hour.
3. Get fish food algae. There are some who like to fish and algae suck straight parts of the tank as a catfish. If you fill your tank with these fish, on cleaning of algae will reach its minimum.
4. Buy a glass of reliable cleaning algae magnet. This will make the process easier when you have to clean and help reduce algae produce between cleanings.
Algae are the least fun of owning fish. However, fish must be cleaned to prosper. Even if the fish have no food algae, it should not be an excuse for not cleaning tank. Check the walls of the tank and all pipes and ducts in the tank algae. It can grow in the strangest places.
